ATrampoline Skirts -- Necessary or Not?
![]() |
Trampolines are experiencing a resurgence of popularity these days. For years, outdoor trampolines were considered dangerous, thanks to the staggering number of injuries sustained by users who bounced off the trampoline or hit the unpadded rim. These days, there are innovations in safety that make using an outdoor trampoline safe and fun. Safety nets, also called enclosures, are an absolute must when it comes to keeping trampoline users safe. They keep jumpers safely inside the jumping area and prevent them from falling or bouncing off. There are also trampoline skirts available to increase the level of safety.
Should you buy a skirt for your trampoline? If you've got kids or pets, then the answer is yes! If a child or animal was to crawl underneath a trampoline in use, they could be severely or fatally injured by the force of a jumper coming down on them. A skirt prevents kids or pets from accessing this area and keeps them completely safe from this risk. Skirts enhance the appearance of your trampoline while keeping it safer.
One popular type of skirt that fits trampolines up to 15' is the Kid Nett, available for around $129. This skirt can be used on its own or in conjunction with a safety enclosure. It is UV resistant and weatherproof, which means it will remain durable for years and years. It only takes about 15 minutes to install one of these safety skirts onto your outdoor trampoline. The Kid Nett isn't the only choice on the market, however. For around $59 you can get a safety skirt from the Jump for Fun company. These skirts are made from a different material but work in the same way, and even come with pockets for jumpers' shoes.
Any trampoline owner concerned about the safety of children, pets, and trampoline users alike should purchase both a safety net and one of the trampoline skirts out there. Also, always make sure that your trampoline mats and springs are kept in top condition as well. These components are easy to replace if necessary. If you have trouble finding these accessories in stores, you may want to get online. The Internet makes it easy to locate all your needed trampoline accessories, compare prices, and get the best value for your money.
