How to Choose Trampoline Pads
![]() |
Trampoline pads are a necessity for any trampoline owner. These pads line the rim of the trampoline and cover the frame and springs. They come in a variety of colors and are covered with a sturdy, weatherproof fabric. There are various reasons why you may need to buy these pads on their own. If you've purchased a new or used trampoline, you may prefer thicker pads than the ones that it came with. Or, your current pads might be old or worn. When shopping for pads, make sure to compare choices from different brands to find the best quality pad for the price.
Sometimes, it's necessary to buy your pads from the same company where you bought your trampoline. Two of the most recognized companies in the trampoline industry, Jumpsport and Fun Sport, offer padding that is made for their particular trampolines. You'll find that most companies sell padding for trampolines in varying levels of thickness. For example, there are pads that have only 1/4 inch of foam, and pads that have 1 inch of foam. The thicker pads are going to be more expensive, of course. But, if you're concerned about safety, they're worth the extra money. Thick, quality pads are important because they help absorb shock and protect the bouncer from injury. If you were to bounce out of bounds and hit the edge of the trampoline, a thicker pad is going to offer more protection than a thin one.
Pads aren't the only safety consideration for trampoline owners. One of the most important parts of trampoline safety is the use of a trampoline net or enclosure. These specially designed nets keep jumpers safely enclosed inside the jumping area and prevent injury from accidental falls. Also, with a safety net, you can attach accessories to your trampoline like basketball sets and tents to make it even more entertaining for kids. These add-ons can be purchased most anywhere that sells trampoline nets and accessories.
Most trampoline pads and nets come in sizes to fit most standard trampolines. Keeping your trampoline well padded and properly enclosed is an important part of safe trampoline use. For more information about this subject, simply follow the links on this page.
